Back in the U.S. of A., I got TWEETED by my favorite roller derby diva, Rettig To Rumble. She was going to be in PDX for the regionals of the Speed Roller Skating Championships and was wondering if I was going.
A corporate job, seeing the new Star Trek movie with Tara and being simply annihilated by jet lag prevented me from seeing R2R claim three 2nd-place victories in the senior citizen category. (I keed, I keed…)
I did go on Day 2, hoping to bump into her. She was already heading back to Sea-town, so I spent some time at the rink looking for feature photos.
The light was horrible in there and I instantly regretted not packing my 35/1.4 lens. I was going to go home and grab it when I bumped into these bored, squirrelly kids waiting for their race to start. I decided I better stick around. Thankfully, the kids were playing near a window.
German sometimes blasts me for not editing my blog tighter. But it’s one thing I like about this blog: I can post as many photos as I like, even if they’re redundant or from the same series. Hopefully, one will strike a chord with someone and I can get a better sense of what works and what does not. I’m not trying to impress. I’m trying to learn.
Besides, what’s a little scrolling down-page between friends?
